The 100 new students arrived on Friday and around 400 returning students arrived Saturday.
Monday was the first day of school and Ben and the boys were excited to get started.
Sunday evening we we were able to walk into Kijabe to have dinner with some new friends and Eunice even taught Esther how to make Kenyan samosas.
On Tuesday, we had men in our house painting the living room, kitchen and bathroom, so Esther and Gabe decided it was a good time to walk down to the Super Duka and the market.
Friday, Esther ventured down to Kijabe hospital to get her first prenatal check-up since arriving in Kenya. The OBGYN is only available to be seen on Fridays and no appointments can be made. So, she showed up at 7:30 in the morning and had to wait outside in line until the doors opened at 8:00. Then she had to register inside and wait until 9:00 to get checked in and then patients started to be seen by the doctor in the order they arrived. After 4 hours she saw the doctor and now has to go to the hospital in Nairobi to get a couple tests done and then return to the Kijabe hospital in two weeks for additional tests and to see the doctor again. Everything takes longer here!
Pray for the family as we continue to adjust to everything new.
Pray for Esther as her body is adjusting to the altitude and being pregnant.
Pray as we make decisions regarding where we will deliver the baby.
Pray for Ben as he connects with and plans lessons for his students.
